WHO I AM
My name is DJ INO and I was born in Barcelona, Spain, and today I call Bangkok my new home. Music has been the center of my life since 1995, and over the years it has given me the opportunity to work as a DJ, producer, radio host, and promoter while performing across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
My story really began in A Coruña, where I founded two underground clubs, House Café and Telefunken. They became more than just venues. They were places where people discovered music, shared ideas, and built a community around House Music. Looking back, those years taught me that the best nights are never just about the DJ. They're about the people on the dance floor and the energy everyone creates together.
These days I'm a resident DJ at Sing Sing Theater in Bangkok, while continuing to tour internationally through doob.international. In recent years I've been fortunate to perform in countries including Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Tanzania, Portugal, Mexico, Spain, etc... always bringing my own interpretation of Deep House, Afro House, and Underground Electronic Music.
As a producer, I've had the privilege of releasing music on labels such as Café de Anatolia, Bar25 Music, Café del Mar Music, TRNDMSK, Redolent Music, and Be Adult Music. Some of my tracks have also been remixed by artists I deeply respect, including DJ Spinna, Nickodemus, Charles Webster, DJ Vibe, and Vincenzo between many others.
Every release represents a different chapter in my journey as a producer. I never set out to follow trends or recreate what's already been done. I'm always searching for sounds, melodies, and voices that feel honest and timeless. Sometimes inspiration comes from a late night on a dance floor. Other times it comes from traveling, meeting people from different cultures, or simply sitting in the studio and letting an idea grow naturally.
For me, producing music is about creating records that people will still want to listen to years from now, long after the hype has disappeared. At the end of the day, I simply hope my music makes people feel something. If a record can still connect with someone years after it was released, then I know it was worth creating.
Throughout my career, I've shared the booth with artists who helped shape electronic music, including Frankie Knuckles, Masters At Work, Jesse Saunders, Carl Craig, Âme, Monolink, King Britt, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Metro Area, or LTJ Bukem between others. Every one of those experiences reminded me that there's always something new to learn, no matter how many years you've been doing this.
Beyond performing and producing, I've always enjoyed creating spaces where people can connect through music. Whether it's a club night, a festival, a radio show, or a collaboration in the studio, my goal has always been the same: to bring people together through a shared passion for House Music.
After more than 31 years behind the decks, I still feel the same excitement I felt when I played my first records. Trends come and go, but my approach has never changed. I believe in reading the room, respecting the crowd, and letting the music tell the story. If people leave with a memory they'll carry long after the last track has ended, then I've done my job.
Looking back, I realize that the music has given me much more than a career. It has introduced me to lifelong friendships, taken me to places I never imagined, and allowed me to experience cultures through a language that doesn't need translation. That's something I'll never take for granted, and it's the reason I still step behind the decks with the same respect and excitement I had on day one.
